L CON + Foundling

Two darlings of the Berlin/Montreal experimental ambient music scenes respectively, and friends who find themselves making music for canyons and deep-sea creatures (with harp, percussion, tape loops and electronics) come together for a night of intimate, mystical sound for soothing hearts in anxious times. An evening of deep listening at Donau 115, Berlin's beloved home for experimental sound and jazz.

With special guest Karen Ng on saxophone.

Berlin-based Foundling perform as a duo of of harpist/vocalist Erin Lang and drummer/percussionist Constantine Karlis, bringing their current live set built around Artemisia (Shadow World Records), where harp, voice, and percussion drift between carefully structured motifs and wide-open improvisation. Spoken word threads through ambient textures and psychedelic soundscapes, landing somewhere between ritual and dreamspace. For listeners of Grouper, Laraaji, and Midori Takada.

Montréal's L CON, the ever-shifting project of Swiss-Canadian composer and sound researcher Lisa Conway. Working at the intersection of analog synthesis, tape, and acoustic instrumentation, Conway's minimalist compositions have earned a Musicworks cover story, praise from The Fader and BOMB Magazine, and presentations at MaerzMusik and TIFF. Expect patient, textural electronics that reward close attention.
