With so much happening in the world and so many challenges and uncertainties, perhaps now more than ever, it’s time to stand together. To look out for one another, care for those around us, and remember that no one has to walk alone. For us immigrants, who left our homes, families and places of origin to build new paths, coming together is also a source of strength. It means celebrating our achievements, sharing our dreams and continuing to fight for a world where everyone can live with respect, dignity and freedom.If Brazil’s presidential election goes to a second round that day, we’re planning something special: a big screen where we can follow the results together, creating a space for those of us who are far from home but remain connected to and involved in our country’s history. Because samba is also about this: coming together, resistance, joy, and community. May Samba da La Ursa once again be that place.And stay tuned, because there’s plenty more to come!
