On September 7th, witness One Leg One Eye drag traditional Irish music through the most severe of voidic territories, stripping it down to its blackest marrow. Over the course of their AD93 releases, layers of distorted pipe drones and jagged metal textures are pressed with heavily processed field recordings, stripping folk elements down to fundamental heavy frequencies. When performed live the duo deconstructs traditional song structures entirely, focusing on sustained pitch manipulation and massive walls of resonance that alter the physical perception of the room and leave the mind feeling entirely untethered. Working out of Berlin, Bridget Ferrill operates upon acoustic instruments, subjecting them to severe digital violence and spatial distortion until naught is left but the skeleton. Last year's Subtext Recordings work Domschatzkammer debases harp, church organ, and microtonal tuba with what she terms »false additive synthesis«, intentionally driving acoustic timbres to the point of collapse and detuning. Constructing custom electronic circuits like the chaos-driven Anglerfish drone synthesizer and engineering live setups for artists like Bendik Giske, her instrument builder and audio engineering background allows her to weaponize her feedback, extracting hidden agonizing frequencies from voltage and physical space to dissolve the presence of the venue. Looming in its place, immense entities of noise consume the listener.
