Electronic music is booming – clubs are dying. Between global festivals, superstar DJs and sold-out arenas on the one hand, and disappearing spaces, clubs under pressure and fragile local communities on the other, electronic music increasingly seems to exist in two parallel worlds.
TRACK ID x RA UNLOCKED takes an honest look at the current state of club culture and electronic music together with voices from across the scene: How much has the scene really changed – and is that necessarily the problem? What does the growing gap between global success and local subculture mean for artists, promoters, clubs and audiences? And how can local scenes not only survive, but flourish again in an international context?
But this is not just about taking stock. The focus is on ideas, practical approaches and places where different paths are already being explored.
