FIELD + Marc Ducret play WINDOWS

WINDOWS is a suite of six compositions by Peter Bruun, which premieres at Cologne Jazz Week 2026. Like looking through a caleidoscope, each piece offers a partial view onto earlier material, onto parallel structures, onto something already in motion. The windows offer anchor points and transitional “portals,” where one rhythmic perspective opens into a continuously evolving other. Through improvisatory approaches the performers navigate these passages from various positions—sometimes aligning, sometimes slightly displacing—allowing and creating liquid momentum to be experienced from multitudes of angles all at once. FIELD has released two records as a quartet consisting of Uli Kempendorff, Christopher Dell, Jonas Westergaard and Peter Bruun, its latest being „Who Are You Sending This Time?“ in 2025. As a group, they have developed very own sound – a subtly interwoven web full of multi-directional counterpoints that is deeply rooted in jazz and moves freely between abstraction and concreteness. Marc Ducret has been a long-time collaborator in Peter Bruun’s projects, be it in the trio with Samuel Blaser or the quartet „All Too Human“. For WINDOWS, a culmination of a long-form „rhythm design“ research project with Jonas Westergaard, Bruun put FIELD and Marc Ducret together for a week of research and recording in a repurposed barn on the island of Møn in the Baltic Sea in 2025.
