DRAMA verbinden unterschiedliche musikalische und kulturelle Einflüsse mit Chicago House, R&B, Soul und Dance-Pop. Das Duo besteht aus Produzent Na’el Shehade und Sängerin Via Rosa. Ihre Musik bewegt sich im Spannungsfeld zwischen Liebeskummer und Euphorie, einen Sound, den sie selbst als „lovesick“ bezeichnen. Auch auf ihrem aktuellen Album „Platonic Romance“ treffen melancholische Töne auf bittersüße, tanzbare Grooves.
Rosa wuchs inmitten von Musik auf, tourte mit der Reggae-Band ihrer Eltern und ließ sich von Sade, Afrobeat und brasilianischen Rhythmen inspirieren. Als Teenager begann sie, Songs zu schreiben und zu produzieren, und schloss sich später dem Chicagoer Hip-Hop-Kollektiv THEMPeople an.
Shehade, gebürtiger Chicagoer und Sohn von Einwanderern, wurde von der DJ-Kultur der Stadt geprägt und etablierte sich schließlich als Produzent und Toningenieur, wobei er mit Künstlern wie Chance the Rapper und Gorgon City zusammenarbeitete.
Seit ihrer Gründung vor fast einem Jahrzehnt hat DRAMA mehrere gefeierte Projekte veröffentlicht, von den frühen EPs „Gallows“ (2016) und „Lies After Love“ (2018) bis hin zu ihrem Debütalbum „Dance Without Me“ (2020) und der EP „Till We Die“ (2023), auf der eine Zusammenarbeit mit Flight Facilities zu hören ist. Mit „Platonic Romance“ waren sie bereits auf ihrer bisher größten Headliner-Tour in Nordamerika unterwegs. Wir freuen uns, dass die beiden jetzt auch im Gretchen vorbeikommen.

DRAMA is the multicultural duo of producer Na'el Shehade and vocalist Via Rosa, known for their unique blend of Chicago house, R&B, soul, and dance-pop. Their music exists in the tension between heartbreak and euphoria, a sound they call "lovesick." Rosa grew up surrounded by music, touring with her parents' reggae band and drawing inspiration from Sade, Afrobeat, and Brazilian rhythms. As a teenager, she began writing and producing, later joining Chicago's hip-hop collective THEMPeople. Shehade, a Chicago native and son of immigrant parents, was shaped by the city's DJ culture and went on to establish himself as a producer and engineer, working with artists including Chance the Rapper and Gorgon City. Since forming nearly a decade ago, DRAMA has released several acclaimed projects, from early EPs Gallows (2016) and Lies After Love (2018) to their debut album Dance Without Me (2020) and most recent EP Till We Die (2023), featuring a collaboration with Flight Facilities. Their live performances have taken them to stages at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands, where they've built a devoted global fan base. In early 2026, they released their third full-length album, Platonic Romance, and embarked on their biggest headline tour to date, selling out shows across North America including The Wiltern (LA), Salt Shed (Chicago), Brooklyn Paramount (NYC), Showbox (Seattle) and both Canadian shows in Toronto and Vancouver, a testament to their expanding reach and deepening connection with audiences worldwide.
