Cold Years are back with the supercharged new single ‘Dread’, an aggressive yet emotion-laden anthem for uncertain times. The single heralds a new era of the band borne of 18 months of deep introspection following the band’s 2024 album ‘A Different Life’ (MNRK), the release cycle of which laid bare the inevitable cracks of 5 years of relentless musical output and touring.Instead of breaking under the pressures of a decade in the game, the Scottish band have channelled their experiences into new music which they will release as an independent band for the first time since 2018’s ‚Northern Blue‘ EP.‘Dread’ captures the anxiety and fear of living day-to-day contrasted with the comforts of friendship, family and relationships.
